0845-rate internet dial-up

I have made arrangements for customers - or indeed anyone who happens to stumble across this web page - to have the facility of an 0845-rate internet dial-up service, provided through one of the UK's leading - indeed award-winning - ISPs. The most common use for a dial-up connection, nowadays, isfor occasional users and for when you are out and about, using your PDA, or trying to download email using your mobile phone as a modem. Also, if you are having problems with your broadband connection any time, it is also useful to have a back-up dial-up account handy, so you can still connect.

How to use my VISP (Virtual ISP) service:

Simply set up a new connection, dialling 0845 123 2097, with user ID kaywebs and password dialup.

There is no sign-up or maintenance fee. You only pay for the cost of the time you are on-line, which from BT landlines varies between 3.95p/minute peak and 1p/minute at weekends. Costs from other phone providers and mobile networks may vary. A very tiny fraction of this amount comes to me. You might want to adjust the "disconnect on idle" setting for the connection to something like 10 or 20 minutes so that your phone bill is not clocking up if you get unexpectedly called away from the computer. All Kaywebs customers who need to use a dial-up to connect to the web, are recommended to use this VISP, as it makes it easier for me to rule in or rule out possible causes of any internet problems you might be experiencing. You can also try connecting via this number if you think your broadband is playing up, to verify that possibility. If neither your broadband nor my dial-up VISP number will connect you, then clearly the cause of the problem lies elsewhere.
